My personal belongings are 12 business days past due per the contract I’ve signed with the broker. I am under the suspicion they are stolen/lost. Adam’s Van Lines is the broker in this situation. Per the contract, and a confirmation in an email exchange, my personal items were to be delivered 3-21 business days. As of 9/16/2020, the items are 12 business days past due. The Adam’s Van Lines salesman explained that his company only hires 4+ star rated carriers. I just went through the 50 most recent google reviews on the carrier that they provided, True State Moving Services Inc, and all 50 reviews are a 1 star rating. Adam’s Van Lines never told us who the carrier would be up until the delivery pick up date. It makes me question if Adam’s Van Lines performed necessary due diligence on True State. I’ve already filed a separate complaint against True State. On 7/30/2020, True State sent two men to pick up my household belongings. The household items consisted of a queen bed, bed frame, 2 nightstands, 1 dresser with mirror back, 1 makeup desk, 1 8ft x 10ft rug, a 50inch tv, tv stand, sectional couch, mail table, computer desk, 3 office chairs, kitchen items (pots, pans, silverware, blender), 2 closets worth of clothes, 2 golf bags with golf clubs, and invaluable personal items (40+ snow globes, family pictures, etc). In mid August (~10 business days after 1st date available for delivery), I attempted to contact the Adam’s Van Lines customer service team to get an update on the delivery. The call went to voicemail time after time again during business hours. After realizing that wasn’t working, I contacted the sales team who would instantly transfer me over to the customer service team. The customer service rep, Alyssa Rugarcia, was never able to provide an update and would consistently say that she would call back but never did. I’ve attached my contract and email exchange below. At this point, the goods are 11 business days past due and I assume that my belongings are lost or stolen.
I desire Adam’s Van Lines to force True State to deliver my personal belongings ASAP with full reimbursement for the final payment of $1143.88, if they actually possess my belongings. If my belongings are lost, I desire that Adam’s Van Lines fully reimburses me for the deposit payment ($1027.32), second payment ($1144.00), and a full reimbursement for my personal belongings which I will value if they are in fact stolen or lost. An estimate of my personal belongings is $10,000+, not to mention all the invaluable personal items that I will never get back.

Contract violations, holding items hostage We hired Adams Van lines to pick up our items in California. without our knowledge, they subcontracted out our contract to Move Van Lines . When the movers showed up they tried to over double the charge for us to use our debit card for the pick-up payment. Because of this, the lead man called his moving manager and received permission for us to pay the full balance on drop off in Texas (it is written on our contract). It has now been 21 days (what our contract states is the max amount of time) and they still are telling us that they don’t know when our items are being delivered. I had 3 family members pass in the past year and these items were lifelong memories I wanted to pass to my children. They will not give us a time and are continuously lying to us. We did end up venmo (which I feel is VERY illegal and unprofessional) the second payment as they told us they would even deliver without that, yes after writing it on my contract that they would. I need help as these companies have violated everything we had agreed to.

It hasn’t been very long since I graduated from college and so, naturally, I never had to relocate in the past. I never hired a moving company before and didn’t really know what to expect. But, luckily, I hired Adams van lines and they took really good care of me. When I called them, they gave me a very reasonable quote. They sent over a crew of four men on the moving day. The movers were all very young. I have to be honest- the men didn’t look very strong. But all four men were very skilled and experienced as it turned out. They packed all my belongings with great care and precision. Efficiency was really their forte. I was glad to see how fast they were, which essentially saved me some money. If I need to move again, these guys will be ones I hire.

I requested a quote and they responded to me in less than 30 minutes. Everything was easy and clear, nothing hidden. Then the moving was very fast. Mathew and the rest of the crew did an excellent job, taking care of everything. Great choice.

After another moving company was dishonest and wasted multiple hours of my time, I decided to go to the next company on a list I had made when searching the web – Adams van lines. Their sales rep was courteous, polite and was very accommodating to my schedule on short notice. They arrived before I went to the storage unit and didn’t mind at all that I hadn’t checked the weather the day before because it was pouring down rain. Within the first minute we were completely soaked but they never stopped working and doing whatever they could to protect my property from the rain. These guys are true professionals and I will be utilizing their services in the future.
