We used Interstate for a move from WV to AZ. They ere great from beginning to end! Clinton and Charlene were incredible with the survey and seeing up the service!
Mr Lee was the driver from beginning to end. He along with Oskar and Rigo were great packing and loading our stuff In WV. They had to deal with two flights of stairs as we lived on the third floor. We had packed 93 items. The added another 82 to bring is to 175 total items moved. They treated the items like they were theirs. Mr Lee packed most of the fragile items.
Mr Lee kept in contact along the way to let us know when he would arrive at our new location. Mario and Andre unloaded our belongings and put our furniture back to gather. Mr. Lee was right in the middle of it.
Great work ethics, efficiency and customer service shown throughout. We would definitely use them again.


Smooth and easy move

Moving is never fun but Interstate made it smooth. Our move was done in two stages as we did not have final address until two weeks after arriving at our destination. We were provided instructions to take down any wall-attached furnishings such as art, shelves, and cabinets.
The packing team labeled and inventoried everything prior to loading and even had a sheet for high value items (beds and treadmill). Packer arrived on a Thursday afternoon and were expected to be done that evening but it took a little longer to sort out the parking situation and being on the 5th floor of an apartment with a small-ish elevator some of the thing had to be carried down. The movers completed packing / loading at noon on Friday. Thankfully, I was also not working any longer and could supervise the entire effort.
The only thing we had to plan for in advance was make sure we had some clothing in suit cases before the movers arrived. Don’t do what we did and pack a day before the movers arrived. Case in point: I had set aside a nice warm jacket but forgot to put it in my suitcase, so the movers grabbed and packed it. Doh! So when we arrived in Atlanta some of the wet and rainy 40 degree days had to be endured in several layers of long sleeve shirts. Alas I / we made due.
After a week-and-a-half of nosing around Atlanta neighborhoods, we settled on a cute little 3 bedroom 1 bath single family house in centrally located Summerhill. Two days after signing the lease, on a Saturday, the moving team arrived at 8am. The same truck that everything had been loaded into in Miami arrived to unload. We took the inventorying sheets and carefully marked each of the 110 items had been unloaded. The move-team put each of the boxes in the correct rooms per instructions and also assisted setting up some of the larger items like the beds, which was much appreciated. Within two hours everything was off the truck and by 11am the movers had left.
Two items did not survive the move: an IKEA dresser and a medicine cabinet. Low value items, which we entered onto the claim form and processed the claim.
The teams were very professional but I do highly recommend being available to supervise the folks if you have the time to do so. In the long run you’ll save time and head aches. I would definite use Interstate for our next move.

Interstate moved my parents to Florida. They were fantastic. My moving coordinator, Hayley, kept me informed on timelines. We had critical medical equipment that needed extra care. They packed it and everything arrived in perfect shape along with household items.
This is 2nd time I’ve used Interstate. Both experiences were excellent. They are affordable and you get a lot of extra care from the entire Team.

Billing/Collection Issues

Their billing practices and introductory information were lacking, non-existent, or after the fact. Their Clutter Busters was recommended by a realtor and was used in 19 Aug 2019. My first phone call from a Haley that was received on Thursday, 15 Aug 2019. She stated her name and then demanded that I input my credit card into my phone, for her use. My question to her was “Who are you?” I did not know anything about her nor what organization she represented. I answered the call of a 703 number, even though its source was unknown. She explained that a credit card was needed for charges that would come up. I stated that I am here, and that I preferred to know the charges before hand. At one point I stated that I did not want Interstate nor any of its employees in the house that I was selling. I relented on that request, at the urging of a loan officer. I agreed to conduct transactions ONLY with Kim . On the clutter buster move, 2 objects were broken, 3 objects left behind, and missing bottled water from my garage. The price of the move vacillated from $2500 to $3900. I was assured that I now owed $1999; and that was the last. A check of $200 was sent to Interstate before the move of 9 Jan 2020; and a CERTIFIED CHECK of $1799 was given to the movers. I was told by Sherri that a check was extremely difficult to cash. That was the reason for the CERTIFIED CHECK. I asked several times if that was the last. I was given a ‘yes.’ I received a call from Haley on 3 Feb that I owed $549 MORE. This is almost ONE MONTH, after the completion of the move to 12913 Alton Square. She even wanted me to fill out a satisfaction survey. Being speechless, I asked her to send me the bill. There are several questionable items on that bill. Four of them were the absence of mattress covers, a useless second trip to storage, double billing on table, and missing items. This is a nightmare.


Move from Alexandria to Centreville

I was moving from Alexandria to Centreville; not a huge move and only one bedroom’s worth of furniture (but with a couple of BIG, heavy pieces) so I utilized IVL’s Clutter Buster Package. The crew was on time, friendly, and communicative. There was a misunderstanding with the schedule but the guys took it in stride and accommodated the move perfectly!
As we were getting ready to leave, my car wouldn’t start. Let me tell you, this crew saved the day! They jumped into action, put my car in neutral, and moved it from the driveway to a safe spot on the street. Then they actually jumped my car for me.
Even with the car troubles and hour and a half commute from Alexandria in rush hour traffic, the whole thing still only took 4 hours.
IVL was neat and efficient and went way above and beyond the scope of the job. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again!
