I hired JK to move my residence from Montgomery County to Northern Frederick county. I downsized from a 4500 SF house to a 1600 SF house. Even after months of me de-cluttering, donating and packing, I still had a lot of stuff to deal with. JK showed up on time, with 6 men and 2 trucks. They handled it all!! Every member of the team was friendly and helpful – and they were having fun!! Not once did I see any of them distracted by their phone or social media — they worked!! No item was too small, no request too large. They handled everything quickly and efficiently. Excellent packing – nothing was broken, they took extra care to protect everything. It was a very long day and they really came through for me! I hope to never move again, but if I do, I’ll hire JK Moving again!

We hired JK Movers to move the contents of a one bedroom apartment in Arlington to our home in Chantilly. They did a fantastic job. Every aspect of the move was well-executed. They arrived on time, dealt with an unexpected delay in access to the loading dock smoothly, packed everything quickly.. the thing I was most impressed with was how securely they wrapped furniture up. Heavily bundled in blankets wrapped in moving tape, the furniture was super-protected. There was simply no way it could be scratched or otherwise damaged. The wrapping also prevented the usually inevitable dents and scratches on the walls of our house.

I have used JK for around 5 moves. The first three moves I was very impressed with the service. The last two moves was terrible. Two moves ago, with 4 people it took more than three hours to move a small 1 BD room apt from the apt to a storage place in the same city. All furniture was disassembled and no packing was required. I requested materials to protect expensive furniture like padding but they forgot to bring. The lead mover also called me a few days later and said that he did not charge me enough and was going to have to add several hundred dollars to my move, which I called and refused to do. We checked all numbers prior to my signature and all was covered.
a few weeks prior to my last move in June, I looked at the boxes and boxes clearly marked fragile were stacked under boxes of books. I equate this to having people who did not speak or read English. This last move was no more than 3 miles and the only thing left was the large furniture. All other was already moved. It was known how much was to be moved and I was sent 4 people for the move for such a small load. I did not complain but accepted that it would finish prior to the three hour minimum. Result? it took them 4 hours for the full move. the workers moved like molasses in the winter. I just could not believe what I was seeking. On the previous move a $2k pole lamp was broken and I listed as an expensive item. The mover this time was leveling the lamp head portion one the floor as she was wrapping the lamp, which is where they broke it before.
My furniture is expensive Italian made with wood, and the movers set tools (hammers and wrenches) on top of my wood furniture when they were assembling. I had to show them how to assemble the bed and the table. I was told when finished that the last group from JK must have lost some of the lock screws because they were not in the bag. However, after they left I found them on top of the dresser where they had placed them. In addition, they did not tighten half of the lock screws, but only inserted them. A glass lamp shade for one of the bed-side lamps was broken as well. Unsure if from the last movers of the new dropped the box.
I cannot believe the lack of quality I have seen. I will never use again.

Two days ago JK Movers arrived on time at our condo in Old Town, Alexandria. The three men started to work immediately. They worked non-stop all day. Not only were they very polite and careful with our possessions, they were incredibly honest. My husband had, a few days earlier, accidentally dropped a jar full of collectors’ gold and silver coins onto the bedroom floor; we thought we had picked them all up and returned them to the jar. Apparently we had missed an entire handful that had rolled far underneath the bed. Mario came into the living room where my husband and I were doing last minute packing of personal items and handed us the coins he had found. Needless to say, we were overjoyed and astonished; how easy it would have been for him to have pocketed the change. We would have been none the wiser. At our destination 40 miles away, the crew was very patient with us whenever we changed our minds and asked them to reposition a piece of furniture here or there. Thank you JK Movers; you’re the best.

Horrible experience and would never use again. Fairly large move to new house, they broke multiple items to include a very expensive lamp $500+,,put in claim only to have it rejected after the movers promised I would be reimbursed. They do not present you with the option to buy coverage until after the move is complete. The box to select it was already “prechecked” for me. I did not have an option to select any coverage. The moving lead mentioned to put in writing that the lamp broke and obviously acknowledged that it was their mistake. I appealed the claim decision and they still refused to pay. A reputable and honest business would have at least done something partial refund or anything. They refused to reimburse even 1 cent. I would not recommend. I hope the $500 they get to keep is worth ruining their reputation and all the negative reviews.
